Options to Improve Productivity

Automation plays a vital role in enhancing productivity, especially in environments with intensive picking demands or high order volumes. Implementing systems that streamline all phases of picking and order preparation is essential for optimizing operations.

Modula offers synchronized options designed to simplify picking tasks. These solutions assist operators in completing their work more efficiently, reducing time and effort while ensuring smooth and accurate order preparation.

Piece Counting Scale

The piece counting scale is the perfect solution for managing large quantities of small items within the Modula automatic warehouse. During the picking phase, it significantly speeds up the counting process, reducing the time typically spent on manual counting, while also providing weight information.

This tool is ideal when you need to quickly and accurately pick a specific number of small items such as bolts, screws, or similar products.

The scales are available in several configurations, including single plates with capacities of 3/6/15/30/60 kg, or double plates with combinations of 3 + 15 kg or 6 + 30 kg.

The counting scale connects to the machine’s electrical panel via an Ethernet cable and integrates seamlessly with the Modula WMS software. The unit weight is preset for each item, and as the operator weighs a quantity of pieces, the number of items is automatically displayed on the Copilot console.

Label Printer

In order preparation and packaging, it’s often necessary to create labels or associate codes with prepared items. Modula offers a label printer designed for personalized adhesive labels and tags, providing detailed information about stored materials, and is directly connected to the warehouse for real-time pack preparation.

The key benefit of a connected label printer is the ability to access desired information directly from the Copilot control console. This allows operators to print labels instantly and apply them directly to packages, bags, or goods without needing to move to other departments, ensuring efficiency and real-time synchronization with the preparation process.

The printer is ideal whenever labels are needed to identify items stored in or removed from the Modula automatic warehouse. After confirming the picking operation, operators can press a button on the Copilot to print the label with all relevant item information immediately.

Barcode Reader

In environments with multiple references or complex material codes, typing can become cumbersome and prone to errors. The barcode reader provides a simple and accurate solution for improving picking accuracy and ensuring correct material selection by operators.

Typically wireless, the barcode reader’s base station connects to the Copilot console via a USB port, allowing operators to move freely across long trays while quickly scanning items.

In addition to its primary use for picking, the barcode reader can also be employed to confirm orders or log in as a user, adding versatility to your warehouse operations.

Sliding Console

During picking operations, the Copilot console is used by operators to confirm, search, and manage tray items. By default, the Copilot is positioned on the left side of the Modula automatic warehouse at an ergonomic height.

However, for long trays or when performing intensive picking across multiple items, the ability to move the console along the tray can significantly improve efficiency.

The sliding console allows the operator to move the Copilot seamlessly along the entire length of the bay, reducing walking time and making the picking process faster and more efficient. This feature not only speeds up operations but also enhances ergonomics, ensuring greater comfort for the operator.
