Electric Monorail system

The electric monorail system from Mecalux consists of self-propelled trolleys that transport pallets along a closed circuit of electrified rails, either fixed to the floor or suspended from the ceiling. This flexible and fully configurable solution allows the creation of circuits of varying complexity and length, enabling quick and efficient connection between different areas of the warehouse or production center.

Guided by advanced software that regulates traffic and assigns optimal routes, the trolleys move through the circuit, transferring pallets between various loading and unloading points. With its speed and efficiency, Mecalux's electric monorail system significantly maximizes the flow of goods, enhancing productivity and reducing transportation time within warehouses and production environments.

Advantages:

  • High Speed: The trolleys achieve speeds of up to 100 m/min when loaded and 120 m/min when unloaded, surpassing conveyors in speed and allowing for a higher flow of pallets per hour.
  • Long Distances: Ideal for automating the transport of palletized loads over long distances, efficiently connecting different warehouse or production areas.
  • Intelligent System: The Warehouse Control System (WCS) monitors circuit traffic and loading/unloading requirements in real time. It assigns tasks to available trolleys, determining the fastest route and dynamically adapting paths to avoid bottlenecks.
  • Discontinuous Autonomous Movement: Trolleys operate independently along their assigned routes, taking alternate paths, shortcuts, or detours as necessary.
  • Fully Configurable Circuits: Circuits can be designed with varying complexity, including straight and curved sections, intermediate switches, parallel routes, and maintenance zones, offering maximum flexibility.
  • Flexibility and Scalability: The system can grow with production needs, allowing the addition of new trolleys, expansion of circuits, and the creation or relocation of loading and unloading stations.
  • Silent, Safe Circulation: Advanced acceleration and braking techniques ensure smooth, quiet trolley movements, while synchronization between trolleys maintains safe distances.
  • Energy Efficiency: Parking areas enable users to manage trolley numbers based on workload, reducing energy consumption by operating only the required trolleys.
  • Easy Maintenance: Trolleys can be diverted to an auxiliary circuit for maintenance, ensuring the continuous operation of the remaining system components.
